Expanding opportunities for Middle School
Exciting news is on the horizon for Pathways Carpinteria! We are thrilled to announce a significant expansion that will broaden our impact and reach in the community. Starting this school year, we are proud to introduce the Pathways Carpinteria Middle School Program, an initiative aimed at providing even more comprehensive opportunities to Middle School Students of Carpinteria.
A few months in, our Middle School Students have engaged in all aspects of work and product making. They are learning to make a wide range of products while learning new skills, and gaining confidence. We are excited to continue growing the Middle School Pathways program and seeing our students take important steps of growth and maturity.
Since starting the Middle School Program, we have been able to establish a good reciprocal working relationship with the administration and counselors at Carpinteria Middle School. CMS and Pro Deo are excited that students are now getting this opportunity to learn and grow in an innovative program like Pathways.
Coastland.shop launches
We launched the brick and mortar version of Coastland in 2019 and has successfully sold quality products handmade by student entrepreneurs in downtown Carpinteria. The store functions as a learning environment for Pathways and helps raise awareness of our program. Our products, program, and store response have been overwhelmingly positive, with people asking, “Do you have an online store?”
An online store and everything that goes into running one has been the number one requested thing our students have wanted to learn. The online store will give us a whole new realm of skills to teach as our advanced students learn to run that side of the business.
Consumers will be able to purchase products made by students in Carpinteria and San Clemente. You can visit our new online store at coastland.shop. We will be adding inventory and products in the near future.
Saying Goodbye to Katelyn Merrell
As life continues to evolve, so does our Pathways team. This fall we bid a bittersweet farewell to a prized member of our Pro Deo, Katelyn Merrell, our Program Assistant, who is embarking on a new and exciting chapter in her life – marriage! While we couldn’t be happier for her, we will miss her dearly.
During her time with us, Katelyn has been an essential part of our team, contributing her passion, dedication, and boundless energy to our programs. Her warm smile and unwavering commitment to our mission have left a lasting impact on both our staff and the students she worked with.
Katelyn, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for all that you have brought to Pathways. Your tireless efforts behind the scenes, your kindness, and your ability to inspire those around you have been invaluable. You have helped shape the experiences of countless students and have made a significant difference in our community
As Katelyn embarks on this exciting journey into married life, we wish her nothing but happiness, love, and all the beautiful moments that life has to offer. We have no doubt that her positive spirit and dedication will continue to shine in all that she does.
While we celebrate this special moment in Katelyn’s life, it’s impossible not to feel a sense of loss as she leaves our team. Her absence will be deeply felt, but we take comfort in knowing that she leaves behind a legacy of excellence and a positive influence that will continue to inspire us.
As we say goodbye, we also say thank you. Thank you for your dedication, your passion, and the bright light you brought to our programs. We will miss you, Katelyn, and we can’t wait to hear about the wonderful adventures that await you in this next chapter of your life.
